Taste a cleaning product?? 😝

Question

I was recently in a store and watched a demonstration on a new cleaning product. 
The salesman sprayed the cleaner into his mouth and swallowed it to show how the product is non toxic and safe for kids and pets. 
My question is do you think that a company should have a salesman spray a cleaning product in their mouth? (He said the company requires him to do this as proof.) 
It’s in a regular spray bottle like any other cleaner and there were several young kids there watching that observed him saying it was “safe” to do.

Uhhhh what a terrible example. What if I child goes home and sprays a toxic cleaning product in his mouth?! How stupid.

Right because a kid is going to look at a spray bottle, determine that it’s the SAME thing the salesman sprayed into his mouth, and be like “oh it’s fine, this one is safe”. 🙄

No. There are other ways to prove a product’s safety. 
Kids learn by copying, so it is a pretty stupid thing to do in front of them.

That sounds like a terrible idea and a terrible job. 
I make most of my cleaning products, so I know they’re nontoxic, but I can’t imagine regularly ingesting them would be good for me. 🙀

Wow that's stupid. I guess if they really want to prove it that's a surefire way.
 I can drink my cleaning products if I want, I only use vinegar or peroxide and citrus oils for most cleaning but I don't see how that's even a selling point. You aren't cleaning dirt outta your stomach 🤔

I’d probably laugh in his face haha. But it would actually make me not buy it bcs that shit doesn’t work. I’ve never used a natural cleaning product that could really get a bathroom clean.

After years of teaching my kid not to put anything in their mouth that wasn't food or drink given to them by mom, dad or an adult in charge, I'd be fucking livid!

A man came into my job doing the same thing, to advertise safety. We work with food, so nontoxic cleaning supplies are important to us. But we were all adults. I think that was okay, we won’t copy it. But to do it in front of children is ridiculous, they don’t know the difference between that product and what they have at home 🤦🏻‍♀️

I agree with everyone. Kids are likely to copy that behavior with a product that’s not safe!!
I seriously would’ve called the company and complained about what a stupid example this sets for kids!
