He doesn’t want a girlfriend with no job

So I’ve been seeing this guy for about three months . He’s been wonderful and so patient . I have anxiety and I’m very insecure and he reassures me which is nice but I noticed he hasn’t introduced me to friends or anyone really . So I got the courage to ask him the “what are we “ question

He ended up saying that basically he can’t introduce a girlfriend to his family that doesnt have a job.

Mind you, I live with my parents , I go to school full time . My parents offered me a deal where I quit my full time job to finish school . I stopped going to school three years ago to work full time . Not because of necessity but because I just liked having money.

He said everything was perfect about me except for the no job part but it could be fixed very easily. He said he still wanted to continue seeing me and maybe “I would get a job soonish”

We had also made a “deal” at the beginning of us dating that we would work on eachother and in exchange also make eachother better people than we are now. He said he wants to help me like I would help him too.

So I don’t know if he’s saying this because he cares or if I’m just wasting my time.

I’m 25 he’s 27 and is a single dad
