When to take a test?

Hey everyone, this may be a stupid question but my period is supposed to start this Friday and I want ahead and took a pregnancy test tonight because I have just gotten so excited and it came back negative; could this be because it was too early for me to take a test? When should I take another test? My breasts are sore and I’ve been bloated and I’ve read that that can be early signs of pregnancy. I literally know nothing so help please, thanks!

Technically they say to wait until a week or two after you miss your period. Personally I couldn’t wait that long but you have a higher likelihood to miscarry in those first couple weeks which is why they suggest waiting cuz you may get a positive only to miscarry/get your period.
Personally I waited three days until after I missed my period and now I’m 20 weeks pregnant.

I got my positive at 9dpo :) I would wait until you’re closer to the day your period will start, even though it’s tough!! Then you won’t get a negative when it’s possibly a positive!

Too early :) Some tests claim to work then but if you look at details the accuracy of it then is really low. Plus every women's body is different. If you don't mind getting possible negatives test every other day, otherwise wait until this weekend :)
