Ok. What the heck?!

Tonight my SO calls me and he is so iratated! Apparently when he was checking his bank account before getting lunch at work he seen that a $45.00 transaction was taken out of his account from a resturaunt earlier today. The strange thing is, neither one of us left the house today, his card is still in his wallet, and we haven't been to that particular restaurant in at least 6 months or more. 
Now, 45 dollars may not seem like a huge deal to you, but, when that money is for your car insurance that comes out in a few days and you don't get paid again until next week... Well there is a problem! 
We are so aggravated and annoyed and unsure of how it happened. Can anyone shed some light in how this can happen when the card that was used, is still in our  possession? ALSO we are definitely calling the bank as soon as they open in the morning.

Most cards have a fraud line number on them, call that immediately!

Well we figured it out! Apparently the last time we were at the restaurant in January they never actually charged the card until now. The bank has no idea why ly but we weren't the only people that it happened to that day! So needless to say we are not paying with a card next time!

If I was him I'd call his bank n tell them that he didn't eat there in 6 months cancel his card see if they can give that 45.00 dollars back since he was not there n wait for a new one

Sounds like card fraud. Call your bank asap to get this investigated. The bank may be able to give you a temporary overdraft to cover future payments, worth asking them. Good luck

I had a similar thing happen to me, somehow someone was depositing checks and withdrawing money from random atm's. And i never lost my debit card, it was in my posession. First thing you need to do is file a complaint with your bank, so they can investigate, it might take the bank 30 days to deposit your 45 dollars. Cancel your debit cards and go to the bank for a replacement, make sure you show them you have the debit card. If the bank give you issues go directly to the police department and open a case make sure you take proof of the withdrawal or any proof you have. Call the bank back and give the your case# and they will immediately take it serious. I had Bank of America, and I ended up closing my account due to $20.00 dollar withdrawals here and there from unknown sources. I always thought it was the bank. So I just stopped banking with them. Call them asap the card probably needs to be cancelled .my debit card was just compromised and I've been waiting for my new card for a week which sucks because I use my debit card everyday. Not used to carrying cash
