Is this normal?

Okay, I had done a blood donation today and the person who put the needle kept jabbing it too much. So she had another girl do it, however, this hurts like hell! I don’t know if it looking like this is normal but besides ice I am not sure what else I can do.

Your skin just looks a bit more irritated, as expected from her jabbing, which she NEVER should’ve been doing. I’m a phlebotomist, and trust me when I say we aren’t allowed to ever do that. You can definitely ice it or put on a fresh bandage if that would make you more comfortable:)

I only wish my arm looked like that after a blood draw. Mine is always bruised up really bad after.

Looks fine to me. I was a phlebotomist. Bruising means that they might have blown a vein. Not the worst thing just painful really.

As long as there isn’t a hard bump under the skin you are okay. Rotate heat and ice.
