Might be Bi-Polar?

Question

okay so I was talking with my therapist and she thinks I either have bi-polar or bi-polar 2 but I don’t really know anyone who has this so I don’t have anyone to talk to . Can someone tell me like the treatment and like what their life is like ? If that makes sense lol?

My father and brother have both been diagnosed. When medication was started, both felt better so they eventually stopped taking them. Please do not do that if they give you medications. Their lives were wonderfully better on medicine, for them and those that love them.

My stepmom.and half brother both are bipolar. I dont think my stepmom takes meds. My brother is on lithium but there are other medications to take for it.
