Relactation help needed!
Hi ladies. So I had my daughter via c section two months ago now, and unfortunately we were unable to breastfeed because she developed jaundice and was stuck in a light box for 48 hours, during which time she could only be out for 30 minutes every three hours. As a result, we ended up supplementing and my milk just wasn't coming in. We did breastfeed on and off for the first month, but never exclusively. So it's been 5 weeks since I last breastfed, and today was day two of my relactation journey. I've been pumping every 2-3 hours from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep (I know you're supposed to pump through the night as well, but that's just not an option for me). I'm also taking fenugreek three times a day.
So my problem is, my breasts have started to ache again. They were never really sore while pregnant, but they were in the beginning days of breastfeeding. I'm wondering if this is a sign of my milk returning? Or do I possibly have clogged ducts? So far, I've only gotten a clear liquid from the sides of my nipples on the first day, and nothing since. My breasts literally throb all day now, though they might be a little better after pumping/expressing.
Has anyone successfully relactated before? If so, do you have any advice?? Advice from lactation consultants would also be very welcome!!
