What happens with an induction?
I’m terrified my water won’t break before my induction on 11/13 and I was thinking maybe it’s just starting the potosin? 
Both labors before my water broke but contractions didn’t start so they did start me on potosin. Is it like that? Yes it is hell but it wasn’t horrible I guess.

I had to have cervadil before they started any pitocin with my first. My cervix just wasn’t ready enough so they used that to soften my cervix over night. I started having very small contractions with that. Then the next morning they start pitocin around 6-7 am they broke my water about noon time I was stuck at 4 cm forevvvver and then my back labor was so rough I finally got the epidural around 7-8 went to sleep once they epidural kicked in until 11 woke up they checked me boom I was fully dilated. I was having a hard time feeling my contractions to push so they shut my epidural off 😒 my sons head was positioned weird under my pelvis so I pushed FOREVER 3 hours. And by the end of it my epidural completely wore off so I felt it all. Was sooo worth it though and honestly in the moment I wasn’t even focused on the pain or anything except getting my baby out was my main goal and focus and I think keeping that focus helped a TON!

I think it all depends on the state of your cervix when you go in. With my first I wasn’t scheduled for an induction or anything but sort of had one anyway. I went to the hospital with some contractions and happened to be 4cm and they admitted me. Started me on pitocin and then broke my water to get things going. I had an average birth for a first time mom - 12 hours from arrival to the hospital til he was born. I didn’t need any of the other methods you read about - cervadil, balloon (whatever the heck that is lol), etc. just Pitocin
This time around I’m anxious because so far I’ve been stuck at 1cm/80% since 36w and I’m still not really having contractions so I doubt I’ll be anymore dilated by Monday (my due date) when she said we’d discuss “next steps” I want him out at this point lol but I’m also a little nervous about a failed induction ending in a csection if my cervix just refuses to cooperate. This has been so frustrating this time around!

That's how mine was last Friday. They broke my water 4 hrs after the pitocin started.
