DNA fragmentation sperm test?

My husband and I have been trying for 14 months now. We recently started seeing a specialist. I had hsg done and it came back normal. Or specialist is now recommending we have this DNA fragmentation sperm test done. Has anybody heard of this? Any pros or cons? We didn’t really receive any information just that he recommends we do this before making formal treatment recommendation. Any help is greatly appreciated

We did this test as well during our IVF journey after two ICSI cycles and no viable embryos to transfer by day five. My husband’s came back showing that it was really fragmented, which made our decision to go with donor sperm the next cycle. Turns out I have terrible eggs as well, but it helped us narrow down some things. We wound up going with donor eggs and sperm the fifth cycle, transferred one embryo and have 8 month old twin girls now! Good luck with everything!!!

We did this! We’re also unexplained and everything’s been normal. Our dna fragmentation test was partially covered by insurance do it ended up being $130 out of pocket. Our results came back as normal. So now we’re on to auto-immune testing. Good luck!

We had it done after our embryos didn’t continue to grow after 3 days. Super easy test and if they find any problems my clinic would just do icsi with our next Ivf round. Everything was fine but it was good to be able to rule something out
