Numb to all the shootings in the US?

Does anyone else feel numb when it comes to shootings in America? When I say numb, I don't mean it like you don't care or they don't affect you. I mean numb as in you look at the TV and you're just like "oh another shooting".... you're not really surprised, you're just sad for the victims and their families. As an American I feel like these shootings are getting out of control. You can't go to work, school, a concert, the movie theater, a bar, church or anywhere the assurance of being completely safe.

I just wonder what has to happen and how many lives will have to be taken before we do something about it. All we do is talk about it and debate about it and then nothing changes. I don't understand how this keeps happening and we do nothing.
