I was talking with a potential boyfriend last night and he called me a “hoe” for having sex with 4 guys in my life. I’ve had sex with those people in a span of 5 years though, it’s not like it happened all at once. I don’t want to justify this because all that matters is what I think, and i’m NOT a hoe. Do you think that body counts make you a hoe? What is a considered a hoe to you?

Body count does not equal shame. I do think that there are circumstances where sex and shame go hand-in-hand. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same moral compass so opinions differ when considering instances where sex could be deemed shameful.

A “hoe” is just a word to shame and control women. It doesn’t matter what number you have been with, and I’m saying this as someone who has only had one partner. I just lucky finding my other half young. No man worth your time uses language that shames and judges women, even if it’s not directed at you.
