Help with pumping please! FTM
Hello Everyone!
I had my beautiful little girl on Friday and want to Breast Feed. Latch and supply has been amazing this far. Yesterday the dr said she had jaundice so they kept us an extra day and ask me to pump after feeding her each time so she has more dirty diapers (I suppose it helps lower Bilirubin levels the more she poops). Anyways her levels went down by doing both things. This is my problem, as of today I no longer have colostrum I have actual milk. I asked if I should keep pumping and I got mixed reviews by lacerations consultants, nurses and a pediatrician. I haven’t pumped at all today but now my breasts are hard and i don’t want to get engorged 😞. What do I do? I was told to pump
Just morning and night to help regulate but then I was told it isn’t necessary and then I was told to keep pumping after each feed. I’m 2 days in and while breastfeeding is going amazing I don’t want to be engorge myself and be in pain so soon when we are trying to figure things out. Any advice helps!
