Contractions or not?

Hi ladies i've been having really painful Braxton Hicks for ages however in the last 24 hours I have pain that feels like really bad period pain I haven't lost my mucus plug and my waters haven't broke. Is this my Braxton Hicks just changing how they feel or the begining of labour! I'm 36 +3 weeks

Could be early labour which can unfortunately last for days/weeks. I was induced so I don’t have any experience as to what natural labour is like but my contractions felt like bad period pains that increased in intensity and length. Pretty soon I was at the point where I couldn’t talk or focus on anything but the contraction while they were happening. Maybe contact your dr or midwife and let them know what’s happening.

I’ve experienced the same recently. Midwife I spoke to said if a warm bath and pain killers don’t ease the pain then it’s more than Hicks.
