Should a mother do these things? Is it acceptable?

While browsing Facebook the other day, I noticed several mothers who shared a post that said something along the lines of “If a mother has her hair done, her nails done, has the latest iPhone and designer purse, you know where her priorities stand”.

What are your thoughts? Should a mother do these things? Why or why not?

I personally felt attacked because I am a dang good mother and I carry a designer bag and have my hair done every so often. But WHY should it matter? Can a mother not care about herself in today’s society. Not saying you have to have designer bags and fixed hair to care about yourself, just stating if that is what makes you happy from time to time, why is this not ok?
