Need some advice about in-laws
So ladies and gents
I personally don’t like my in laws for various reasons but I’ve never kept my children from them despite them not including my children in cousin activities and such...
Anyway, here’s my problem
I gave birth to my baby in July. She was born at 30 weeks and she spent 5 weeks in the nicu.
She’s been home now for 3 months and she’s been doing great but it’s now cold and flu season and I’ve been told by her pediatrician to keep her in doors and to be careful.
So my in laws are coming down to our state for thanksgiving dinner which by the way we weren’t invited to (not that I’d go but just pointing that out)
They want to come see my baby the day after thanksgiving.
I don’t want to let them meet her. Not only because I am not a fan of them but because of cold and flu season and the fact that I don’t trust them.
I asked if they had been sick in the last two weeks and they said no. But when I had my other daughter a couple years ago I told them they were welcome as long as they were healthy and they said they were and when they arrived not only were her two kids running a fever but she and my mother in law had nasty coughs. And I had a NEWBORN. A term baby but still only 2 weeks old. And they risked her health just to see her.
I don’t trust them to tell me they’re not sick and then come visit my preemie and put her at risk.
I also don’t want to cause problems. Idk what to do here.
