Need advice 😭☹️

My son is 2 1/2 he’ll be 3 in March. He’s been a biter since he got his first tooth... LITERALLY 🤷🏼‍♀️ we have tried everything from smacking his mouth, spanking him, and time outs, etc. yet he still insists on biting other children, even older children. & there is times he even tries to bite me out of excitement. It’s getting so bad that at family gatherings I can’t even sit and talk to family because my husband and I have to follow him around and make sure he doesn’t hurt any of the other children 😭 I feel like a failure as a mother, I feel like I’m not doing something right. I could really use some words of encouragement and any advice if you’re child has also been a biter.

P.S. don’t comment to “not spank my child” everyone parents differently and we’ve chosen to use that as a discipline method.
