Late bloomer.

My son is a late bloomer, always has been.

Didn’t crawl until his first birthday. Didn’t walk until he was 15 months old. He is 18 months old and he still isn’t talking. He understands what I mean when I talk and he points at things and grunts. If I tell him to go get a block he’ll bring me back a block. He’s just not using words. His doctor and I have spoke about this and she wanted him in speech but my husband believes we should wait until he’s 2. When did your child begin talking?

Im also worried about weight. He’s only 21 lbs and he has not gained the past 3 appointments with his doctor. And that’s been about 6 months or so. My husband and I are both small people, short and petite. But I know when I was little my mom has me on pediasure for my weight so I’m worried I’ll have to do the same with my son.

I’m here to ask these things and ask for opinions because I have some people who say I need to worry but others say he’s normal and healthy and all kids are different. I just don’t know anymore.
