Families for rent (read post)

I’ve read stories of a mother renting a father because her daughter was depressed and seeing her mood drastically increase, people rent boyfriends to attend weddings with, or hire people to just spend time with.

The one that really stuck to me was the mom who regularly rented a male to play her daughter’s father. It was a really messy situation because the mom started to gain feelings for the actor because she wished the situation was real. She basically interviewed with him and she told him exactly how he should act and what he should say to her daughter who was being teased for not having a dad and was becoming depressed.

There are also instances of women faking entire weddings to get their parents off of their back about finding a man to settle down with.

It’s kind of interesting if you want to read up on it.

QUESTION:

Do you personally think it’s ok to rent actors for this purpose? Or does it depend on the situation?
