It’s Not My Job 🤷‍♀️

So I’ve been noticing a thing my older brother does whenever I cook. Mind you this is the brother whose always stolen and lied and said messed up things to people (not to their faces of course) when he was living in his own with his wife and kids he “strategically” kept from us, I barely know my nephews tbh. But now he’s back and pretends like nothing was ever said 😒.

So whenever I’m cooking he makes a very obvious statement of what I’m doing. Like I’ll be right in front of the stove cooking and he’ll walk by staring and will state “Oh you’re cooking?” Like obviously I am. This is his telltale way of asking for something, but will never outright say it. He’s never been one to ask but always take when we were children and still so. I cooked and ate and wrapped all the leftovers up and he didn’t utter a word just sit on the floor staring into the abyss or something.

Another fact, he doesn’t cook or buy food for everyone, he only buys food and snacks for himself which he will proudly hoard. He literally did the same on Thanksgiving when his kids came to visit he didn’t buy them anything he claimed he was, NOTHING, not a toy, a blanket or snacks. watched us get the groceries, prep and cook the food and did absolutely NOTHING. He fed them junk food he had only because they saw it and asked for it but was the first time ready to eat when the food was done and the day after would ask out mother to feed them when he was able to in between his impromptu weed and beer breaks.

Let any woman in my family see my blatant ignoring of him I will be judged and shamed for not making a man a plate or picking up on his cues. I will NOT enable any grown man who will not open his mouth and ask for something. He’s my brother, a sneaky thieving fuck but my brother nonetheless and it isn’t my job to have to constantly pick up on his body language to figure out what he wants like a new born baby. Some of you may think I’m being petty and hell I might be but why do I always have to be the one offering or giving something?
