We didn’t know the gender until birth. Our showers had themes (one was turtles/Earth Day and the other was books/literature). We didn’t tell people what colors to purchase, they just naturally did neutral colors because no one knew the gender. I preferred it because we received more off our registry and some sweet non-pink or blue clothes.
