I’m 18 and my mom made me take out my belly ring because I didn’t tell her about me getting it!! I only got it because it was my friends bday and we both went to a tattoo shop and I thought I needed a new piercing. I’m so annoyed! It’s literally a belly ring, but she thinks I got it because I want to do “hoe activities” what are ur opinions?

You’re 18, you can get the piercing without her consent  which means you can have/keep it without her consent . And the “you’re under her roof so you should’ve told/asked her about it first” is a bunch of bull💩 cause you’re a legal adult . Point blank

Why would you even take it out? You’re an adult. I got my lip pierced when I was 17 and my mom told me to take it out and I said no lol. I wasn’t trying to be disrespectful but it’s my body, I was close enough to an adult. I kept it in and she didn’t say anything more about it.

My mom always said if I got my nipples pierced she’d kick me out because of the same reason.. she thought I was gonna be walking around the streets showing my titties lmao. When I got them done I waited a couple months to tell her (I was 18 at the time) and she said “you better hope you’re joking or I’m gonna rip them out” I never brought it up again cause I was scared 😂 Now that I turned 20 I told her I had them and she saw them through my shirt (we were at home) and she was still upset but didn’t care as much. It’s your body girl. Put that jewelry back in there and I’m sure your mom will get over it... they just need time!

Get a new one and put it back in if you want I guess. I got mine done when I was 18. I got my tongue done when I was 21, and my mom was grossed out but could not say anything even though I lived at home.

Been here before, my mom is a dedicated Christian and piercings and tattoos are not okay with her. When I was 17 I got my belly pierced and 18 when I got my first tattoo I hid those two from her until she found out and when she did she was pretty mad. I felt horrible about lying and hiding but I told her I’m not taking anything out and I admitted to her I want a whole sleeve and more piercings. She was devastated but now we have an amazing relationship and I have many more piercings and tattoos which I still know she hates but at least I told her 🤷🏽‍♀️

Put it back in and just keep a shirt on, she’ll never know. And plus you’re 18 and it’s your body so do what you want with it. Would you let her tell you how to cut your hair or do your makeup? Probably not, so don’t let her control piercings either
