What is D21 progesterone test?

What is D21 progesterone test?If it only confirms ovulation, I have already confirmed ovulation using follicle tracking? What more information does the progesterone test provide when trying to conceive?
Btw, I am on letrozole this month. What other hormones are tested on D21?

They told me the progesterone test confirmed whether or not I ovulated.  I believe it can also tell around the time the ovulation happened.  I am unsure of how you tracked ovulation through follicles.   When they checked my follicles, they just measured how big they were.  The femera is what helps the follicles to grow.

You also need to know what your progesterone levels are should you have to go with assisted fertility. My levels were very low so I am now on a higher level progesterone shot as I start IVF. It’s always good to know your numbers! ☺️
