Uk places to visit

Hey, I'm looking for somewhere nice to visit in January just for 2-3 nights that's not going to cost loads! (I have a passport so could go abroad but everywhere is just so expensive!)

I'm from Newcastle and also worked in Edinburgh for a while so looking for somewhere else.

I want to definitely be away on the 9th and maybe a few days before/after as it would be my due date for my little boy whom I lost at just under 23 weeks and I want to be able to not have to worry about work, family ect
