Irregular periods

Does anyone have any advice for being sexually actively with a very irregular period? I’m on the pill and I’ve talked to my doctor, she says the irregularity is nothing to worry about. It just makes me anxious that I do not have a normal period to let me know if I might be pregnant. Wondering if anyone else is in the same position and how to deal with it and make me feel less anxious?
