Unisom or Ginger Ale?

Hey all. Looking for opinions. 
The other night I was feeling great. I bought some Unisom because I heard it helps with nausea and sleep. I took half a tablet and gulped down some ginger ale.
About 15 minutes after that, I started feeling really nauseated. I ended up throwing up.
Do you guys think it was the Unisom or the ginger ale that made me sick? DH thinks it was the ginger ale, due to the sugar and carbonation, and the fact that I drank it fast. I’m hoping it was because I’d really like to try the Unisom again, but I’m afraid to take it now.

The unisom needs to be taken with vitamin b for it to work for nausea

Ginger al makes me gag just trying it. Ginger tea helps. Anything carbonated will most likely make you sick. It adds more to the gasses already bloating your tummy.

To be honest, ginger ale hasn’t done much for me unless it’s a really high-quality one with more ginger in it.

Even carbonated water has been bothering my stomach, so Id drop the soda before the unisom. Though i never heard of unisom helping with nausea, I thought is was just for sleep trouble.
