Colposcopy..?

Question

I had my colposcopy today due to my papsmear from last month coming back abnormal.. I’m 23 with 2 healthy kids (5 & 1.5). My doctor said he stated he found 2 abnormal areas to biopsy today. I’m not sure what to expect.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. I’m afraid of having cancer due to my aunt dying from cervical cancer 2 years ago..

Don’t worry until they give you something to worry about. My first abnormal one was 4 years ago, they just keep coming back abnormal 🤷🏼‍♀️ there’s also a guideline they have to follow since were so young. Don’t be surprised if they schedule another pap. Good luck!

I had the same thing when I was 21: abnormal pap so I went back in for a colposcopy. That was 10 years ago so I don’t remember if she did it then or if I had to come back for a return visit where she used cryotherapy to freeze off the affected tissue. It was a bit uncomfortable and I had some cramping briefly afterwards, but it was a very quick procedure. I had discharge for a few weeks as my body shed the dead tissue and was told to abstain from sex for 6 weeks until it was all healed. 
I haven’t missed an annual Pap smear since then and all have come back normal. I’ve also had two healthy pregnancies since then and nothing else unusual in my lady parts. If you have been on top of your annual Pap smears then I’m sure they caught the problem early enough and you will be fine. :)
