Any moms of preteen girls?

Tell me if I'm being too strict.
I think we have a problem with my stepdaughter. She's 12, and soo into boys. She had a "boyfriend" that ended up causing drama with girls calling her a slut. So they broke up. Now she's dating his cousin. Today she comes home from school asking me how to break up with him because she doesn't know what to do about this other guy she likes.
I lost it on her. I think this is ridiculous for a 12 year old. Am I wrong? How do I help bring her back to reality?

No dating til 16 in my house and absolutely no “light discussion”’of it either. 
I’ll be honest I got pregnant at 16. I just didn’t understand that boys only want one thing even though my mom tried over and over to explain it. 
This is the reason I am SO strict. I won’t even entertain the word boyfriend prior to that age and there RULES to the dating. My daughter isn’t always happy about it but between me and her stepdad she knows it’s better for her to respect the rules. 
1. Boys must be willing to meet us FIRST. 
2 No dates past 10pm 
3 Must come to door and act like he has manners. 
4 I’m allowed to see his grades. 
5 I’m allowed to meet or talk to his parents. 
6 I’m allowed to change the rules anytime I like

The "I lost it on her" yeah she's not coming to you again. Dont make her fear you and battle her emotions and hormones alone. They do it regardless try more positive talking than just the old fashioned boys only want 1 thing. 🙄

It’s good she’s talking to you about it maybe look into getting her on birth control & actually try to explain things to her . Regardless of your rules she’s just going to do it behind your back anyways so at least you could make sure she’s being safe

I think it’s good that she’s actually talking to you about these things and you definitely don’t want to make her fearful of continuing to do so. I wish I had advice on actually navigating this, but I haven’t been through it nor do I have any right to speak on it. I just know it’s important that our kids talk to us and you’ve got that going for you right now.
