How long is laparotomy recovery?

I had my laparoscopy. I start lupron on Wednesday. Surgery is in November. I have stage 4 endo. Everything is stuck together in one glob, ovaries, tubes, bladder, rectum, intestines etc... It's going to be quite the cleanup.

How long were you in the hospital after a bikini cut laparotomy? How long did you take off work? My job has heavy lifting so I was thinking 6 weeks. Is that too long?

Hi everyone Is different on their recovery time..I have had two lapoatormy...in 2012 from an ectopic I went back to work after 6 weeks that was to soon biggest mistake I did but I needed a distraction after loosing my baby ....my second lapoatormy was 6 weeks ago ended up with septacemia for the second time this time was because of a chocolate endomertrioma cyst that burst . ...I had major work done...had adhesions removed from ovary and bowl then needed bowl repair. ...I then ended up with pneumonia. ..I am currently still off work and not looking at going back till at least after Christmas ..best advice I can give you is not to rush your recovery your body will tell you if you are doing to much...i am still having good and bad days

It's 4-6 weeks I'm taking the full time due to ectopic pregnancy  and really emotional.
