Breastfeeding and drinking ?

Question

How do you go about pumping/breastfeeding and having a few drinks? I would like to enjoy the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day and stuff! 
I have a good supply (even an oversupply) so I’m not worried about that! 
Just need to know how to go about it so my baby doesn’t get any to him!

Alcohol passes through milk in miniscule amounts. A few drinks won't harm baby. You don't need to pump and dump and you don't need to wait hours after to feed your baby. If you can drive you can feed, if you can hold your baby safely you can feed. The problem comes when you're drunk and cannot take care of baby safely. So be responsible and have fun and breastfeed on!

One night I had a few drinks but waited 2+ hours before feeding and my daughter didn't seem to have an issue.

They have testing strips you can use to determine if there’s any alcohol in your breast milk.  But rule of thumb is, if there’s alcohol in your blood, there will be alcohol in your milk.  So if you want to have one or 2 drinks, you should be good to nurse again in an hour or 2 once it’s been metabolized (unless you don’t mind your baby having a little alcohol—which i definitely wasn’t okay with)—so you don’t need to pump and dump bc your body will metabolize the alcohol.  If you’re gonna have more than a couple drinks, then you might need to pump and dump, but only to keep your supply up/prevent engorgement.  Also, don’t dump the milk—but save it for a milk bath for baby!!
