Are babies born to unwed mothers allowed to be dedicated publicly to the Lord?

Question

I am a first time, single, mother to be. I am not and have not been married to my baby's father and do not intend to. I still want to do right by this child and want to dedicate his or her raising to The Lord. I attend a southern baptist church and my mom told me they would not dedicate my baby because I am not married. Is this part of the thesis for the southern baptist faith? Is it church specific? Please comment and vote!

Wow I really hope there aren't churches out there turning babies away from being dedicated the the Lord!

Bible wise, the lord does not treat a child any differently from one another. Remember, we are all equal as far as sin is concerned and god sees us all as equals. No one is greater than another. 
As far as earthly rules, I’m not sure as I am non denominational. But there is nothing in the Bible to support such beliefs. It’s more of a belief that man made, not god.

There’s no where in the Bible that talks about dedicating a baby . That’s mostly Catholics that tends to do that . God would never turn anyone or a baby away .

Depends on the church. I was an unwed single mother before I was truely saved and I still dedicated my son. 
Having my son and have a realization of the real world is what drew me in to Christ for real. During my pregnancy I repented of my sin to God and spoke to my pastor about it and because I was truely repentant of my sin I was allowed to dedicate my son.
