I am living in a small town. I moved here for college 4 years ago and got married to a man who grew up here 2 1/2 years ago. My husband has a great job here, we have a son and we recently bought a house. So I’m kinda stuck here, but I can’t seem to find any friends I connect with. I had befriended a girl about my age who’s also a mom, but I feel like she’s not a very good friend. She hardly ever initiates hangouts and she’s always bragging about her other friendships on social media but she never talks about me. Everyone I know is friends with her so it’s really hard to be friends with anyone else without also being friends with her because they are always suggesting we invite her. Also her best friend is kind of a bitch and doesn’t like me and says things to her about me behind my back. I’m just so discouraged. I feel like I’ve been trying so hard with absolutely no luck. I can’t seem to find anyone outside of that group that I relate to. I’m more artsy and creative and active and I like to go out and drink occasionally and a lot of the moms here are older and not really into much besides being at home with their kids. I just don’t know what to do anymore. How do I make close friends? It seems like everyone already has a bestie....
