My bf and I have been dating for 4 years now. I am currently unemployed and recently decided that I wanted to try to be a lifeguard. Once I told my boyfriend he was automatically so against it. He said that if I took the job he would end up leaving me. His reasoning being he doesn’t want people to see me in a one piece. I don’t know what to do I don’t want to lose him but I really wanna be a lifeguard. What do I do? I need advice.
Update: we decided on a compromise and that is that I would wear shorts.

Well you do what you want, he’s insecure and you can’t stop doing what you want just because of someone else insecurities, I got a kind of similar situation, my hubby it’s a bartender, when he told me he wanted to try it I told him the same thing, he demonstrated me that being a bartender doesn’t mean working in a bar flirting with girls, he work in a expensive ass restaurant, when people go to eat and of course order alcohol too, he also told me that if I wanna leave him that’s fine; but he wouldn’t stop doing the things he want because I feel insecure of that job.
