So confused please help!!

I really like this guy and we’ve been talking for about a year as friends. It started out through mutual friends and then he found out I liked him, but he was dating someone so we’ve just kept talking as friends. He breaks up with his girlfriend and a week later starts saying that he’s into me, but the next day and for the past week, he’s been telling me about some other girl... so I can’t tell what is going on? What should I say? Should I say anything?

Edit: he keeps going on about how beautiful this other girl is still, even after telling him I liked hom
