My 5 year old stepdaughter has a constant cough. She coughs and clears her throat 24/7 and it seems like nothing I do helps. She’s so used to her couch it doesn’t bother her and when I ask if she feels bad she says no. Even when she is actually sick she always says she feels fine and she is very rarely sick.

Tonight I slathered her in chest rub, gave her cough medicine, and put a space heater in her room. Her room is the warmest room in the house but she claims she is cold at night. She sleeps with a thick comforter, a fuzzy blanket, and she sleeps in on long sleeve jammies so I don’t feel like it’s possible for her to be cold at night.

I just can’t figure out what’s going on with her. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Has anyone else had an issue like this with their kid? Any ideas what it could be? Any ideas on how to make her cough go away?
