Do you or your SO not speak to family members?

I’ve noticed a lot of people don’t speak to their family members lately. Just curious what the causes might be. I don’t speak to an aunt because she’s manipulative, narcissistic, and creates drama out of the littlest things fights with my mother over nothing. I don’t plan to patch things up with her because she’s toxic. She has never met my son and she won’t be invited to meet my next. I don’t invite her to any of the showers or birthday parties. That’s the only member of my family I don’t speak to tho. 
Anyway I guess I’m just being nosey ☺️

My husband and I agreed to cut out his brother (including his wife and two kids) because his brother has anger issues and will throw tantrums at family events. We don’t want our son to think that behavior is acceptable so we are no longer in contact with them.

We don’t talk to one of my sisters because she’s mean and makes comments about me not being part of the family because I’m adopted. Other than her, we talk to everyone. We don’t necessarily go out of our way, but we’re social with them when we get together.

I don't speak to my mother.
She's an emotionally manipulative drug addict who only cares about herself or what others can do for her.
I've hardly seen her in 10yrs and not at all in the last 5yrs.
I'd rather go to prison for murder than let her anywhere near my daughter.
But I'm very lucky to have a great stepmum.

I don't speak to my mom. My parents are divorced so I finally cut ties when they split in 2013. She's an alcoholic, very manipulative and has a lot of mental health issues. So I choose not to surround myself with someone like that. She won't be meeting my daughter either (she's almost 2 years old now). Growing up, we really didn't have too much of a connection to that side of the family either. My husband wasn't speaking to his grandfather for quite some time, but just reconnected with him a couple of years ago.

I havent spoken to my MIL and FIL since my stepsons birthday in August 2018 because of hurtful comments made to my family, and Very poor gestures made to me and my family at a childs birthday party. I choose not to be around people like that and we have agreed our child will be around them only in passing.

After many fights due to family getting involved in how we raise our kids we don’t share much information anymore with family members cause those fights have almost caused us to get divorced. Since we decided to keep to ourselves we fight a lot less and actually work thing out without yelling

I hate my aunt. I would be here all day telling  you why but here's the simple: she's a bitch. 
I have a ton of family I don't talk to because I've never talked to them. it's all my dad's side, none of them live here and the first time I met most of them I was 10 and it was my grandpa's funeral. that was 15ish years ago. most of us are Facebook friends though.

We don’t speak to my SO siblings except for 1 as they chose to cut my SO out when his father died and chose to not include him when dividing the mother and fathers possessions we didn’t even receive his childhood photos. Nothing to remember his parents by, no family heirlooms to pass along to our children and yet nieces and nephews were given anything they asked for. As it was written possessions to be divided between his remaining children but no possessions were listed there was nothing we could do as we had no proof of what there actually was.

My huaband has no contact with his dad or his sister ,his dad and step mom use to be abusive when he was a child ,and well his sister couldnt help but send pictures of our daughter to her dad so he don't talk to them.his dad has never met our daughter .i don't talk to my cuz cause she got back with a child molester and started using drugs again .sometimes its better to cut them out
