What’s the reason people are afraid to tell children where babies come from?!

I get that sex is such a risky topic for such young minds but why the hell are we lying to kids and putting trash in their head? Babies come from mars? Really?! You lie to kids about where babies come from then buy then baby alive dolls, subliminally preparing them for motherhood. I’m confused.

I think if you don't have children, it's a harder concept to grasp.
I plan to tell my kids straight up when they ask.
However, the idea of them asking terrifies me. They're my babies, asking me grown up questions. I question every aspect of my parenting. Especially the big things, like this. What if I say it wrong? What if I'm too straight forward?
I already use the correct terminology with my 1.5 year old. Vagina isn't a dirty word. It's just like foot or ear. It's a body part.
I also thing it's a stepping stone question.
Where do babies come from?
How does sex work?
But why?
Kids are incrediblely innocent and blunt. My friends 5 year old straight up asked her if she could have sex because she wanted a baby too.
The mere idea of my daughter asking me a question like that makes me so uncomfortable. She's my little girl. I'm not ready for her to grow up and ask these questions.

The part that really sucks about it to me is that parents never want to imagine that anyone is molesting are sexually abusing a child. And a lot of time children who are being sexually abuse have no idea they have been sexually abused because the parents never talk to them about sex and where babies come from.

Ultimately, it's a problem with the parents' thought process.  Some view sex as something dirty, others think it'll motivate their kids to want to have sex sooner, still others are just embarrassed.
For me, sex was never a taboo subject.  About the time I was curious of where babies come from, all my aunts were having babies and had pregnancy books galore which I immediately tore into.  And my mom encouraged my reading them and was always willing to answer any other questions I had.
Honestly, knowing the truth is a protection.  It helps protect children from sexual predators, it keeps them from viewing parts of their body as something dirty, and despite having a full knowledge of sex and how it work by my early teens, I wasn't more inclined to now go have sex; ultimately I'm still a virgin. 
Yes it can be an embarrassing subject to discuss.  However, the children are not the ones embarrassed about it; we are.  But wouldn't it be better for them to learn from a parent than from a friend? Or even worse, go find out on their own and end up pregnant or with an STD?

I do think it’s a sensitive topic and one that should be approached slowly over time, but openly and honestly. Use the real names of the body parts, explain biology when talking about puberty. 
I told my daughter exactly why we have periods. The uterus prepares for a baby every month and releases an egg. When the egg isn’t fertilized, the body sheds the lining and it’s bloody. I’ve said for the egg to be fertilized it has to mix with sperm. Luckily, she hasn’t asked me yet where the sperm comes from, but that’ll come soon (no pun intended). 
She told me she heard boys talking on the playground (she’s 9 by the way) that sex was when people suck on each other’s private parts. Since it’s not entirely wrong, I just said, “so, do you have any questions?” It left it open for honest discussion without generating shame or disdain around the topic.

I think it’s stupid to lie to kids about this. Sex Ed is already bad enough, no need to make it even worse from the beginning. There are age appropriate ways to address that topic and I plan on being completely honest with my kids.

I honestly don’t know. I feel like a lot of parents see it as bad. But sex is totally natural and a great majority of humans will have sex in their lifetime. I was raised to think that sex was horrible and caused babies 100% of the time and if I was caught having sex with anyone I would die basically. It ruined a relationship for me and I regret being so closed off emotionally to this day. If I had education about sex I could’ve made an informed decision about whether or not to have it and I would’ve felt supported by my parents instead of scared. I probably still would have chosen to not have sex but I would have felt okay talking to my then boyfriend about it and I think we could have established boundaries. I plan on having a gradual learning process (over her entire childhood) with my daughter so that she knows about her body, how it works, how her body and a boys body is different, learn about the reproductive system, and eventually we will talk about sex whenever she is ready. It’s awkward and it’s not fun to talk about but it’s necessary.

I’m about to have another baby in about four weeks. I’ve explained to my 4 & 5 year old how I’m gonna feed the baby by nursing (which they think is hilarious). I’ve also explained to them how baby is going to come out (which they think I’m gonna pee their baby sister out). I’m not afraid or embarrassed to explain how things work to my kids. Besides it’ll make the puberty talk so much easier down the road.

I don't understand why people are like this either. My friends son is 10 and thinks all baby's are born by c section because that's what his mom had and she told me 'hey its easier to explain this way!' so like.... Your never going to tell them? She says she's just uncomfortable. My parents never talked to me about ANY THING. 'vagina' was not a word we used, ever. I didn't even know what to do when I got my period at 11. I learned about sex from my cousin. I plan on starting young, in ways he can understand and we can build on details as needed, I feel that makes it less 'scary'. But I'll always be honest with him. I'm not going to tell him babies come from when a mommy and daddy hug like my parents told me.

Children knowing what sex is, the correct words for genitals, and where a baby comes from is not bad or inappropriate. Children are naturally curious and I don’t see the point in lying about it, when you can just explain it in an age appropriate way. They don’t have to know everything at once either, you can explain in better detail when they get older.
