Breastfeeding A Newborn

How often did you breastfeed your newborn?

My little guy was born at 5:27 PM 3/11/19 via c-section.

He ate for 20 min. at 6:40, for 5 min. around 9:40, 10 minutes around midnight, but he keeps licking his lips, rooting and fussing. Should I try to feed him again? Would he stop eating if his stomach was too full? The LC spoke to me for five minutes and said he should eat every 2-3 hours but my nurse said it doesn’t matter since he “missed his window of feeding after birth?” I just feel lost as a FTM. 😩😩
