Hearing Issues

So last night was my first night home with my newborn. He’s sleeping in his own nursery, which is across the hallway from my room. My fiancé and I live with my parents, whose room is across the house and downstairs.

Every time my baby cried last night I did not hear him. Either my fiancé or my parents would hear and wake me up to feed him or they’d soothe him theirselves. I feel so horrible. I’m not sure what to do. I have a baby monitor right next to my bed too, with the volume all the way up. I’m not sure how I can fix this. I just want to be able to take care of my little guy. 😫
