Intrauterine growth restriction

Kayla

I’m currently just collecting information about this condition. My baby has it because I have pre eclampsia. At 34 weeks she only measured 29. I know that means if she were to be born now that she would be the size of a 29 weeker but does that also mean her organs and systems (lungs, heart, kidneys, digestive etc) will work like a 29 weeker’s would? Or would that somehow be functioning at 34 weeks? On the ultrasounds they have said her systems look good and I got the steroid shots to help with lung development. I will be 35 weeks tomorrow and I have a growth scan to see if she’s made any progress, if she hasn’t they will be inducing me tomorrow. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could share their experience with IUGR. What was your gestational age when you delivered and what was your baby measuring? Was it just their size that was small? Or were their systems and bodily functions also measuring behind? Any tips and advice would be great! Trying to prepare myself for What to expect.
