Father of child drama

I dated the father of my child for almost 3 years.he left me when I found out I was pregnant.said it would hurt his other children too much,which is bs. i am currently 4 months.we don't communicate.the most he has done for me in this pregnancy is leave a case of water on my porch once.he unexpectedly dropped by yesterday and expects to be involved after the baby is born.i feel he abandoned us during the most sensitive time ever ,as well as I don't want him treating my baby like a side baby. Because of that I really don't want him involved is that fair or unfair.I'm just trying to protect my baby of future abandonment and rejection issues from his father.he thinks I'm selfish because of it.
