Sister has PPD

My sister just had a baby and he’s about 12 days old. Her supply is not doing so well and he doesn’t latch well. She called me crying that she can’t do it anymore and was giving up on BF. I told her if that’s what she needs for her sanity then do it.

Well here comes my mom with the worst timing and not understanding her struggles and saying just give him the boob it’s way better than that formula you have been giving him. She cried for quite a while after that. She even begged me to BF him. I’m due in a few weeks but I don’t have anything to give otherwise I’d help her out.

I never had latching or supply issues with my first (until he was older my milk dried up) so I feel terrible she’s going thru this but I don’t know how to help her. She’s seen a million specialist and doctors and it’s basically come down the formula.

How do I help my sister cope? She doesn’t want to go to the doctor but I know her at least talking to me is a HUGE step.

Any advice would be appreciated.
