Gifts for baby...

I feel like I need to send my mother a message asking her to please not buy too many (or any) things for our baby just yet. This is our first and I know she’s excited but she’s already given me a bag full of clothes that aren’t to our tastes at all and some mismatched bottles and pacifiers, etc. I am super grateful, but I don’t want her to waste a bunch of money on things we won’t end up using.

Has anyone had to have this conversation before? How do I say it in a polite way?
