Can I take out my nuvaring during sex?

I just started the nuvaring and my boyfriend and I both complain about feeling it during sex. (it’s far enough in, he’s just on the larger side of penis. Lmao) 
Is it okay to take out during sex and reinsert once I’m finished? I love my nuvaring, just not during sex

I don’t know if what planned parenthood said is true or not but my doctor told me that I can remove it for up to 3 hours and still be protected. No longer then that. I used to remove it for sex because it was uncomfortable.
