Clomid/Ovulation/BD Questions
Hi there!
First a little background...I have had several - ok a ton (over 10) miscarriages. I am high risk due to incompetent cervix, pre-term labor, shoulder dystocia and pregnancy related antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. I have 3 children and have been TTC#4 for since 2017. We have had about 3 miscarriages between 2016 and December 2018 and 1 2nd trimester loss in January of 2017.
Despite all of this, my husband and I would love to have one last baby. My doctor of 20 years stopped returning my calls and with the last miscarriage didn’t return my call until after I started the miscarriage process 2 weeks after I had blood drawn to confirm the pregnancy. So I switched doctors.
This new doctor started me on clomid 50 mg. Once a day. She also recommended that I see a hematologist who wants me to start lovenox injections (my last 2 successful pregnancies were while I was on lovenox injections). So all new doctors agree that I should have started that and asprin long ago—but that’s my fault for sticking with a dr that isn’t/hasn’t been trying to help us.
So...now for my questions.
My dr said after I finish clomid wait until the 28th to test for ovulation. But one of my apps said to start testing yesterday and I did. So now I’ve got 2 days with the flashing smiley face (clear blue advanced digital) and I know I’m supposed to wait for the solid smiley. Which should happen in about 24-48 hours after the flashing smiley. So does clomid cause a false surge if I test early? Should I keep testing for the peak fertility solid smiley?
If so, when should we start and end bd days? I say end, because I’ve been wearing out my hubby this week 🙈
I apologize for this long rant and the questions, I’m new to clomid (and this app) and have been tracking ovulation pretty well up to this point. I’m just unsure of what to expect since I just started clomid.
Thank you and baby dust to you all!
