Bad credit & home buying

Has anyone had really bad credit and bought a home?

If so, what was your credit score at the time and did you need a down payment? How big of a down payment did you need?

Please don’t judge our mistakes while we were younger, we are actively trying to rebuild our credit, but of course it takes a long ass time. Our landlord quit paying taxes on our home and now we have to move. Advice?
