ANY NURSES HERE???

Question

I gave blood sample in morning 8 am but it was tested in night 3 am ... The hcg count came as 480 but doctor said can't trust it as it was tested late... Is it true?
Note : The doctor keep telling me about ectopic pregnancy and tell that my hcg is low and I am in 5th or 6th week I guess.. it is such a traumatic thing to listen

No. If its blood it doesnt matter when its tested. Unless he means that the sample was held to long then maybe. The first number doesnt matter it's the second when its tested after 48 hours to make sure its doubled.

I’ve never heard of this. Unless maybe the blood wasn’t properly stored? This is a new one to me though. That number is on track to be around middle of the 4th week. How far a long are you based on your last period?
