Cramping after ovulation...

Bear with me but I've been seeing women complain of cramping during ovulation and was wondering when that happens? If it happens after ovulation, what does that mean? Are there any signs of implantation besides spotting? I've really just not paid any attention to my cycle because it was always so irregular and I wasn't ttc but now that I'm actively trying, I've noticed all these little things.
