APPRECIATION POST

Appreciation post. my husband and I have been together 5 years. Married 3. 2 kids later. In that time we moved across country twice. Had all our worldly possessions stolen. Moved to Central America and back in the face of political unrest and violence- it’s been a whirlwind of events.

Now here we are. Every morning He wakes up at 3am and works until 5pm so that I don’t have to. So I can actually enjoy the newborn stage with my baby this time as last time I was right back to grad school and work (3 weeks post c section !!). Even so He still finds time to share our son’s favorite pastime of showering (my kid likes to be clean 🤷🏽‍♀️) and snuggle with our newborn.

These last 5 years have been disastrous frustrating scary devastating heart wrenching but also magical exciting thrilling joyous enriching and empowering. If we can get through all that we’ve been through and still be living and breathing (didn’t kill us yet!) I’m so confident of what we can accomplish in the years to come.

Life’s meant to be messy with Set backs struggles failures and learning lessons. This is the time where we write the stories we’re going to tell when we’re older. And idk about you I want my story to be one of twists turns triumphs and celebrations.

As we step through the next unknown I just want to say to him thank you. I’m glad we’re on this journey together. No matter how many times we fail we learn and we learn to do better for next time. Through everything you’ve taught me perspective perspective perspective. Life is only and always up for your interpretation.
