Job and life advice. Please help. I’m stuck.
Okay so. I have my job I currently have which I’m pretty comfortable at. Meaning I have flexibility. For instance, if I need to leave to go to the dr, go to court, take My son to the dr and have a longer lunch- I can. It’s Monday- Friday set schedule. No opportunity to move up or make more money. I hate the environment. I’m expected to do more than anyone else. I’m better at what I do than anyone else. I currently work in a call center at a dealership.
I just got offered a job at a medical benefits coordinator the job pays 2.25 more an hour. It’s a longer commute. It’s a contract, so there’s a possibility that I may not get hired on permanently after the 4 months. But I will be able to put that on my resume. I’ll have better experience.
I’ll be able to better our future, as I’m a single mom- so more opportunities to make more money and have different experience in the medical field is awesome. I won’t have that much flexibility with having time off to go to dr apt or things of that nature, as I’ll be in the contract I’ll have to perform my highest ability.
I’m at a loss of what to do. I’ve asked a few people and it’s about 50/50 saying I should take it and saying I should stay at my current job.
What would you do in my situation?
