Moving in temporarily with mil.

So my husbands job was moving but they have to build it first. It was originally said to be done by July then they changed it and said October which I thought was perfect because that’s when our lease was up. Now they are saying it should be done in December 😫. So when our lease is up we are thinking about staying with my husbands mom/her husband and 3 sons for 2/3 months till they’re done. I really don’t mind because she’s hardly home. What are people’s thoughts about staying with other people and what should I help with around the house? I don’t want her thinking I’m lazy. Also what is the most important stuff to bring? For sure our big stuff (couches, table, treadmill, kitchen, restroom stuff will go in to storage. Should we just bring a little? Ugh nervous about it already. We get along but aren’t all that close. I guess it’ll also help with us saving up too which I like. Any advice would help. Thanks

She usually goes out and doesn’t cook. I’ve been just thinking about making crockpot meals while there so it’s not smoky or smelling of food. I know I usually see her post about someone coming to her place to clean the whole place. Also my husband and I shower together all the time would it be disrespectful to do it there or should we stop till we move.
